GEOVIA Pit Optimizer role from Whittle can be utilized throughout various phases of mine planning, from Exploration, Scoping, Pre-feasibility, Feasibility, Bankable feasibility, and In-Production mines

This role enables the user to understand the potential value of the deposit, target areas for future analysis, understand the economic viability of the deposit and options for capital investment and development strategies, identify preferred development strategy and expected NPV.

The role is also equipped with tools for sensitivities calculation to develop risk reduction strategy, analyze expected return on investment, sensitivities, and investment risks, and calculate of annual reserve statements



Pushback Optimizer (JPB)


GEOVIA Pushback Optimizer role from Whittle is an upgraded version of the Pit Optimizer role that can be utilized throughout various phases of mine planning, from Exploration, Scoping, Pre-feasibility, Feasibility, Bankable feasibility, and In-Production mines.

This role has all the capabilities of the GEOVIA Pit Optimizer role with the addition of a more robust mine planning algorithm. The user cannot only identify preferred development strategy and expected NPV but also the optimal extraction sequence.

The role allows user to determine development strategies for new mines and pushbacks approaches, define pushbacks that address both maximum NPV and minimum mining width requirements, and control consistent and repeatable process for creating pushbacks



Multi Mine Optimizer (JMM)


GEOVIA Multi Mine Optimizer from Whittle is an add-on role that extends the benefit of the GEOVIA Pushback Optimizer role to save time and reduce possible errors by allowing multiple mines to be defined within one optimization framework, define mining constraints on an individual mine-by-mine basis, utilize multiple block models through Whittle’s native block model import and merging capabilities.

This add-on role also enables user to generate more realistic overall schedules from different mining areas all within one optimization framework, maximize NPV across the whole mining complex rather than just one mine, determine the optimum use of grade stockpiles to maximize NPV, and determine the optimum cut-off strategy for maximization of NPV



Blend Optimizer (JBD)


GEOVIA Blend Optimizer from Whittle is an add-on role that extends the benefit of the GEOVIA Pushback Optimizer role to improve NPV through blend optimization, optimize blending on either a Whittle mining sequence or imported an imported sequence, determine optimal product specification for bulk blends to achieve maximum NPV.

The add-on role also enables the user to determine optimal plant feed criteria for extractive blends to achieve maximum NPV, determine the optimum use of grade stockpiles to maximize NPV, and determine the optimum cut-off strategy for maximization of NPV.



Simultaneous Optimizer (JSI)


GEOVIA Simultaneous Optimizer from Whittle is an add-ons role that further extends the benefit of GEOVIA Pushback Optimizer and adds the following benefits:

  • Reveal and remove potential bottlenecks that may be counterintuitive or would not otherwise be seen
  • Optimize multiple mines and processing paths simultaneously across Schedule, Cut-Off Grade,
  • Stockpiling, Blending, and Capital to improve NPV beyond traditional sequential optimization approaches
  • Has been shown to significantly improve NPV over traditional pit optimization approaches
  • Make individual optimization mechanisms more accessible in a single-step
  • Analyse and report using both standard Whittle outputs and advanced Spreadsheet Reporting
  • Handle 30 processing paths as well as Capital or CAPEX Optimization
